Plaster cast of the New Year's card with a view of the Königsstuhl in Rense by Stolzenfels on the Rhine.
Small, oblong, octagonal sugar box of white porcelain with gilding, painted with small reserves on the sides with Chinoiserie scenes inside (a Chinese figure preparing tea on one side and a Chinese figure with a bird and cage on the other), "indianische Blumen" are scattered over the rest of the box, the cover likewise painted with Chinese figures, one with bells, the other preparing tea, with wide gilt and scrollwork borders as well as a Chinese-inspired floral border, the finial in the shape of a pagoda.
Pair of small, creamware covered custard cups with shell edges highlighted in green and both covers and cups hand-painted with the initial B in a roundel, with ball finials highlighted in green and loop handles with green banding.
At the Peace of Posen on December 11, 1806, Friedrich August joined the Rheinbund, which was founded by Emperor Napoleon of France on July 17, 1806. At the same time, Napoleon made Friedrich August King of Saxony. After the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, at which Friedrich August fought alongside the French and lost, he was captured and imprisoned in Friedrichsfelde near Berlin.
