Oval basalt medallion with profile portrait of Mrs. Sarah Siddons (1755-1831) facing left. An English actress who was born in Brecon, she married the actor William Siddon in 1773. She was engaged by David Garrick to play at Drury Lane.
Shallow oval dish of white jasper with dark blue jasper dip and white relief decoration, around the inner edge a border of leafy flowers on a vine, in the center well is a central decorative element comprised of acanthus leaves and anthemion motifs and on either side is a small relief scene, on one side "Sportive Love" and the other a seated woman with her hand to her face as an attendant cleans her feet with a jug of water, below a drapery.
