Portrait of a woman figure leaning slightly to the right and looking forward. She is adorned with various pieces of jewelry: conical earings, multiple necklaces, and an arm band on each arm. This series is a product of Jacovleff's involvement in the Expédition Citroën Centre-Afrique.
On the left, stands a line of tall poplar trees. One tree, half grown, stands near the center. Livestock grazes in a grassy field. A windmill turns in the distance. Wind blows in from the right side causing the trees to bend slightly to the left.
Justus Lipsius was a philosopher. He is seen here in portrait from the waist up, slightly angled to the right, looking away from the viewer. He wears a ruff and a fur lined jacket. His right hand rests inside the cover of a book as he gestures with his left hand. This is from the Gillis Hendricx edition of the Iconography (Icones Principum Virorum Doctorum, Pictorum Chalcographorum Statuorum nec non Amatorum Pictoriae Artis Numero Centum), made between 1632-44.
