Small, rectangular cast-iron plaque, the cast-iron frame attached and decorated with a simple, repeating pattern of anthemion motifs and beading, the central scene of The Last Supper after the original by Leonardo da Vinci with the text MEN DICO VOBIS QUIA UNNUS VESTRUM ME TRADITURUS EST (And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me) from Matthew 26 below.
Basket of solid white jasper with dark blue jasper dip and applied white, yellow and green jasper relief decoration and round stand of solid light blue jasper with a darker blue jasper dip and applied white, yellow and green jasper relief decoration, the basket oval in shape with flared rim, the lower body decorated with a band of beading and a band of wavescroll motifs below a delicate lattice pattern, the main body with vertically applied white bunches of three reeds each and molded yellow straps applied horizontally to give the impression of a basket weave pattern, the rim with a modified egg and dart pattern, below the rim a band of ribbon and reed in green jasper, with two molded handles with applied yellow jasper ribbons wrapped around them and four applied white flowers, one on each side, the interior a plain polished blue, the stand with a plain blue central well surrounded by a band of beading and one of lattice work, the rim with the same vertically applied reeds intersected by molded yellow straps, with a band of green ribbon and reed around the edge.
