Three Mexicos, Joe Lasker, gouache
This watercolor and its custom-cut, gold-colored mat represent a stained glass window for a church. The format includes two long, figural lower panels as well as twelve additional decorative elements above. Together all of these cut outs form a pointed (gothic) arch. In the lower left figural panel a woman (the Virgin Mary) wearing blue drapery kneels in front of a column. In the lower right figural panel a man (Jesus) wearing pink-white drapery raises his right arm, pointing his index finger.
