At the Peace of Posen on December 11, 1806, Friedrich August joined the Rheinbund, which was founded by Emperor Napoleon of France on July 17, 1806. At the same time, Napoleon made Friedrich August King of Saxony. After the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, at which Friedrich August fought alongside the French and lost, he was captured and imprisoned in Friedrichsfelde near Berlin.

Large round, self-framed wall plaque, or roundel, of black basalt with the image of a Centaur teaching Achilles the kithara in relief against a red encaustic ground, framed by a reeded border with criss-cross ribbons and fluted cavetts.
Mug with a cylindrical form and ravenstone glaze. The form flares at the bottom of the mug and tapers towards the base. The exterior is decorated with plain, dimensional bands most likely formed during the shaping process. These bands do not continue past the flaring of the form and the bottom part of the mug is smooth. The mug's handle is a rounded square, placed at an angle to the mug. The mug's interior is also uniformly glazed.
Tulip-shaped silver goblet with beaded round foot resting on a square base, the base engraved on one side with the date MDCCLXXXIII and on the other "Wm Hole to Jas Luke Esqr in token of regard & esteem for his candour & integrity," the main body engraved on one side with a crane on a "chapeau gules turned up ermine" – traditionally the emblem of the Crane family – the interior covered with a gold wash.
Small oval medallion of black basalt with the relief profile portrait bust of David Garrick (1717-1779), English actor, in classical drapery, to right, with the name GARRICK below the truncation.
