In 1925, Moretti returned to his native Italy, ultimately settling in San Remo, a Mediterranean coastal town a short distance to the east of Nice, France. Moretti brought along a small quantity of Alabama marble, from which he carved this small statuette, which resembles an ancient Roman sculpture.
