Oval blue jasper plaque with white relief of Euterpe, broken in several pieces. The modelling of Euterpe is attributed to John Flaxman Jr in around 1778. Wedgwood owned some muses figures which were created by Bouchardon from 1770. However it was not until 1777 that he decided to produce them so he requested Bentley to commission Flaxman to produce some more to complete the set.
Creamware soup bowl enameled and gilt in the center with the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom, including lion and unicorn supporters above the motto banner, 'Nec Temere' 'Nec Timide', within a blue scalloped border edged with gold barbs.
