Oval medallion of black basalt with the bas relief portrait bust of Roman Emperor Claudius (11 BC-54 AD) facing right, wearing laurel leaf crown, the name CLAUDIUS impressed below the truncation, self frame, pierced to hang.
A small Bow Dismal Hound seated on its haunches with head turned and tail curved to the left. The dog's white coat is colored in patches of brown. The dog figure is seated on an oval shaped base decorated with three flowers of red, yellow and rust colors with green leaves.
