Shallow dish or tray of white jasper with dark blue jasper dip and white relief decoration, of rectangular form with truncated corners, the interior with a band of oak leaves and acorns around the edge, in the center well a central decorative element comprised of acanthus leaves and anthemion motifs, on either side one of the Muses, Erato, Muse of Amorous Poetry holding a lyre, and Euterpe, Muse of Lyric Poetry holding two pipes, or flutes.
