Tall footed vase with cover in a deep blue and white jasper dip the edge of the foot is decorated in white relief with a band of overlapping leaves and berries delicately shaded to give the impression of translucency the stem features a band of beading where it meets the body the lower body is decorated in a stiff leaf lotus pattern the main body is decorated in the round with a group of cherubs or geniuses each carrying symbolic objects or playing musical instruments above the figures is a border of nine bearded men interspersed with laurel branches and above this a border of anthemion motifs the upper edge of the vase is decorated with an egg and dart pattern below a narrow band of ropework the neck features a band of of grape vines and leaves with bunches of grapes the conforming domed cover has a similar stiff leaf lotus pattern and pine cone finial
