Pair of solid white jasper candlesticks with yellow jasper dip and applied white jasper relief decoration, on round foot with a band of overlapping acanthus leaves, the lower stem engine-turned in a fluted yellow and white striped pattern, the upper stem with heavy floral and fruit swags supported by ram heads and ribbons and with small oval medallions with classical vignettes inside, with two brass replacement bobeches.

Cast iron portrait medallion modeled in high relief with the image of the Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus (Carl von Linné; 1707-78) in profile right in civilian dress with a sprig of Linnaeus borealis, or twinflower, in his buttonhole and wearing the Order of the Polar Star, a Swedish order of chivalry, below the portrait is the name LINNÆUS, at the top is a hook to hang.
