Large, heavy cast-iron covered tureen resting on an oval foot with short, beaded stem, the oval tureen in squat urn form with raised foliage on the bottom and a band of stylized floral motifs around the midsection, with a handle on either side in the form of two connected sea creatures with open mouths and split, scrolling tails, the domed cover with a band of acanthus leaves and pinecone knob.
