Small covered dish in silver, originally with glass liner, resting on four leafy ball feet, the lower and upper edge of the body with a band of beading, the body with a narrow band at top and bottom in a pierced guilloche pattern – repeating, interlacing curved bands enriched with rosettes – the central body decorated with bright-cut engraving, on each side a central oval reserve flanked by floral garlands, on one side the reserve engraved with a stag’s head cabossed (crest associated with many different families), on the other with a flower and leaf motif, with two loop handles that terminate in leafage, the domed cover engraved at the edge with a band of leafy motifs, with acorn and oak leaf finial.
