The blade is a piece of a file 5.25 inches long, curved edge 1.938" wide.  This is attached to a handle of alder? cut from a tree about 1.5" diameter with a limb .75 inches in diameter. 11.5b.  which serves as a handle. The blade was wrapped in blue and white gingham and lashed with Niblick.  Fig 94. cotton fish cord.
