Update from the Director

Dear Friend,

With the health and safety of our dedicated staff and beloved visitors as our utmost concern, we’re approaching the reopening of the Museum with the same due caution as other popular cultural attractions. With the unanimous support of the Museum’s Board, we’re putting data before dates, and will set a reopening date only after two full weeks of statistical flattening in new cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County.

We will continue to serve the community with a rich array of digital offerings through #BMAfromHome, which has generated a tremendous response both locally and nationally. Below is a snapshot of the impact of #BMAfromHome since we closed. We look forward to welcoming you back to the BMA, and are using this time not only to develop new and creative ways to connect with you virtually, but also to prepare for your return. We will continue to closely monitor the numbers and look forward to having you back with us as soon as it is prudent to do so.

We are grateful for your loyal support, especially as we weather one of the greatest storms in the Museum’s nearly 70-year history. With your help, we will come through this, battered, but not broken.

Sincerely yours,

Graham C. Boettcher, PhD
