Benten Pond is within Ueno park, a spacious public park in central Tokyo. The park houses numerous museums, a zoo and is a popular gathering place no matter what time of year. In the summer the pond is famous for the lotus blossoms that seem to carpet the water.
Futatsudo is the “Second Hall” in the Toshogu, a Shinto Shrine in Nikko Japan. The shrine was dedicated in 1617 as a memorial for Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616), founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, also known as the Edo period (1615-1868).
