5 Things You Don’t Want to Miss at Art On The Rocks

/ Art On The Rocks

It’s summertime, and you know what that means! It’s time to relax, listen to live music, and enjoy your favorite cocktail. What better place to do all of the above than Art On The Rocks presented by Dale’s Seasoning at the BMA. Join us this Friday, June 14th from 7-11PM as we celebrate 15 years of summer fun at Art On The Rocks. We have amazing interactive activities planned all night. Here is a list of five things you don’t want to miss!

Performance by Con Brio
Buckle up, Birmingham! This funky seven-piece San Francisco band is known for its adrenaline-fueled live shows, acrobatics included. Sway to a sound that refuses to conform to a single musical genre, fusing decades of styles to get the party started. Catch Con Brio on the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage!

Interactive Mural with Paul Cordes Wilm
Birmingham visual artist Paul Cordes Wilm combines pop art with elements of folk art, inspiring the nickname “folk-pop.” His work often explores social issues and can be found all over the Magic City. Pick up a brush and get in on the action as he paints a community mural in the Bromberg’s Lounge!

Ways of Seeing: Fashion
The 2019 season of Art On The Rocks is inspired by the exhibition Ways of Seeing: Fashion, which explores how fashion has been documented over the years through art. Don’t miss the fashion photo booth at the end of the exhibition hallway! Ways of Seeing: Fashion is presented by Style Yourself Chic with Megan LaRussa and made possible by the City of Birmingham.

Beats by Gina Tollese and Shure Shot feat. DJ Suaze and DJ Rahdu
Are you looking for the dance floor? With these DJs on the turntables, you’ll be tearing it up all night. Dance under the stars with Shure Shot in the Garden Lounge or catch DJ Gina Tollese in the Cafe for a night of good vibes and dreamy beats.

Glam in the Galleries Digital Tour
We’ve got our own glam squad at the BMA! With this interactive scavenger hunt you can explore different fashion trends from around the world and throughout time by receiving clues on your phone that will navigate you through the galleries.
