The Birmingham Museum of Art is located at 2000 Reverend Abraham Woods, Jr. Blvd (formerly Eighth Avenue North) in downtown Birmingham. The Museum sits on the corner of Reverend Abraham Woods, Jr. Blvd and Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd (21st Street North) on the left (north-west) side of the street.
From I-65 North:
- Take I-65 north towards Birmingham
- Take exit 261A to merge onto I-20 E/I-59 N toward Gadsden
- Take exit 125A for 17th St

From I-65 South:
- Take I-65 South towards Birmingham
- Take exit 261A on the left to merge onto I-20 E/I-59 N
- Take exit 125A for 17th St

From I-20 East/59 North:
- Take I-20 East/I-59 North towards Birmingham
