In this hands-on workshop, participants will make large “color wheel clocks” to use for practicing telling time and reviewing basic color theory! Activities include: multiplication practice with movement/kinesthetic learning, the human clock game, using lines and shapes to create patterns, color sequencing, group work, partner work, individual work, resist painting techniques, compare/contrast with Venn diagrams, and solving word problems about telling time. Workshop activities will also include museum tours and studio activities that enhance understanding of these standards and suggestions for guest artists that can visit schools during the unit of study. Participants will leave with complete lesson plans, assessment materials, and finished original artwork.
