Gifts of Stock

Giving appreciated securities, such as stocks and mutual funds, is a wonderful way to make your gift in support of the Museum. For more information, contact the Development team at 205.254.2600. For full instructions download stock transfer PDF.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Speak with your employer to see if your company matches gifts. If eligible, request matching gift paperwork from your employer, and send the completed information along with your gift — The BMA will do the rest.

Endowment

A gift to the endowment is one of the most lasting contributions you can make to the Museum. Endowed funds are an essential base of support, providing a continued source of income for general operations as well as specific programs.

Your gift to the endowment

  • Elevates the quality of the BMA’s permanent collection
  • Ensures the legacy and long-term financial security of the Museum
  • Enables the fulfilment of our mission through supporting educational programs

For further information, or if you are interested in making a gift to the Museum’s endowed support fund, please contact the Development team at 205.297.8214.

Planned Giving

A bequest is one of the simplest ways to make a lasting gift to the Birmingham Museum of Art. By including the BMA in your estate plans, you recognize and ensure the quality of the Museum’s collection and programs for years to come.

You may choose to support the Museum in any number of ways including a bequest, life income gift, charitable lead trust, or even life insurance policy.

The BMA recognizes those individuals who have chosen to support the Museum with a planned gift by inviting them to join the Wells Society. For additional information about the Wells Society and including the Museum in your planned giving, please contact the Development team at 205.297.8214.

Gifts of Art

The BMA’s collection spans thousands of years and almost all regions of the globe. As we continue to build our collection, we look to our donors to help us fulfill our mission to present only objects of the highest quality. The gift of a work of art can enhance the Museum’s collection and provide a legacy that educates and inspires future generations. A large part of the Museum’s art collection was acquired through gifts, an extraordinary testament to the generosity of distinguished collectors in the Birmingham community and beyond.
