FREE Join us for these special 20-30 minute talks and if you stay for lunch at Oscar’s, they’ll even throw in dessert! This talk by Dr. Sandra L. Sprayberry, the Robert Luckie Professor of English at Birmingham-Southern College, welcomes audience participation as we explore imagery in some of Frost's poems and Rockwell's art. Using American idioms and symbols, Frost and Rockwell created works that on their surfaces celebrated American life. A deeper look reveals a more shadowed path of psychological and social commentary, and raises interpretive questions of complexity. |
