Since the Memorial Garden opened—with the Museum building in 1959—the Red Mountain Garden Club has been involved with its planning and maintenance, including the 1993 addition of the Charles Ireland Sculpture Garden. In 2010 the American Planning Association declared it one of the Great Spaces In America. Club President Helen Drennen talks about this long and successful association.
