In 1952 the Museum began a fruitful relationship with the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, which continues today. Their generous gift of Italian paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts formed the core of our European collection. Deputy Director and Chief Curator Jeannine O’Grody discusses this outstanding legacy.
