Emily Hanna, PhD, Curator of the Arts of Africa and the Americas, will give a guided tour of Bamana art from the West African country of Mali. The tour, held in the Museum's African gallery, is offered in collaboration with the program Common Threads presented at Alys Stephens Center, Nov. 7 - 11, which brings together quilters from Gees Bend, AL, and Bamana mud-cloth makers from Mali. The Museum's collection of Bamana art includes masks, sculpture, textiles, iron arts, and pottery.
