The Indian Cultural Society and the Museum present an evening in honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, Gandhi Jayanti (officially October 2). During the evening, we will host a program honoring student participants in the Gandhi Jayanti poster and essay contest.
This contest celebrates the connection between Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., two of the greatest leaders of the twentieth century. This celebration of Gandhi’s birthday calls attention to these two great historical figures and their contributions to civil rights movements across the globe.
