Bart’s Books: Something From Nothing

Bart’s Books is a storytelling program for children ages 4-7. Bart selects a new book and related work of art each month that he thinks kids will enjoy.

ArtBreak: Delacroix and the Power of Color

At this week’s ArtBreak, Curator of European Art Dr. Robert Schindler will discuss Delacroix and the Power of Color. Hailed as one of the great colorists of all time by his artist friends and critics alike, Delacroix’s mastery of painting is unrivaled in his time. He was seen, and saw himself, as following in the footsteps of such great old masters as Rubens and Rembrandt. The exhibition Delacroix and The Matter of Finish provides an extraordinary opportunity to study his genius first-hand, and this talk will help understand and appreciate Delacroix’s remarkable virtuosity.
