8PM // Chicago-based poet and teacher Orron Kenyetta presents a spoken word performance inspired by the Face Jugs exhibition and David "Dave the Potter" Drake, the African American slave who defied his captors by inscribing verse and other personal flourishes into the pottery he was forced to produce for the Edgefield Distrcit pottery works in South Carolina.
