Summer Solstice Concert (3:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

FREE

Get a sneak preview of the BMA's fall blockbuster exhibition, Norman Rockwell's America, with live chamber music from the early 1900s performed by members of the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra. Travel back to American life in the early part of the twentieth century, when lazy summer Sunday afternoons were spent in the park listening to live music. The appeal of those concerts is a part of Americana that remains strong today.

Conducted by Yurii Henriques, the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra will present a musical background for the Rockwell era with compositions by composers such as Copland, Ives, and William Grant Still. We will offer a sneak preview of selected images from the exhibition as well. Join us!
