Join us for a special Valentine-inspired ArtBreak. In conjunction with the exhibition The Look of Love: Eye Miniatures from the Skier Collection, Graham Boettcher will discuss the symbolism underlying the dazzling jeweled settings of these extraordinary objects.

ArtBreak // Black Is A Color (12:00 - noon - 1:00 pm)

Jeffreen Hayes, the Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow for African-American Art will give a public gallery talk on selected works from the collection including works by Kerry James Marshall and Chakia Booker. Hayes is completing her PhD at the College of William and Mary in American Studies and has recently held fellowships at Ithaca College and the Library of Congress. Hayes has also made significant contributions to the field of African-American Art through publications and presentations on a national level. Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our Museum staff.
