Your Night at the Museum!

The Birmingham Museum of Art is pleased to present an after-hours experience on the first Thursday of each month. Wander the galleries, sip cocktails in the garden, catch a movie, or sit down with friends for tapas at Oscar’s. The Museum is open for your enjoyment until 9PM.

We will enjoy live music, beer tastings, food trucks, and the final after-hours opportunity to visit Delacroix and the Matter of Finish!

5-9PM // Third floor galleries open (rest of Museum closed for Museum Ball preparations) // Visit the all-new African Gallery and visit Delacroix and the Matter of Finish before it’s gone!

5-9PM // Food trucks and full cash bar // Shindigs

5-6PM // Live music with Taylor Shaw // Guitar soloist in the garden

5:30PM // Public talk  // Tour of the all-new African Gallery with Curator of Arts of Africa and the America Emily Hanna, Ph.D.

6PM // Public talk  // Canvas to Cinema: Tracing Cinematic Influence from the Paintings of Delacroix to Gladiator // David Resha, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Media and Film, Birmingham-Southern College // Auditorium

6:30-8PM // Drop-in and Draw // Garden

7PM // Beer tasting // Garden

7-9PM // Live music by The Great Book Of John, presented by Communicating Vessels // Upper plaza of garden

7PM // Film Screening: Gladiator // Auditorium
