In celebration of African American History Month, BMA Speaks welcomes featured performer Priscilla Hancock Cooper, who will present poetry reflecting the national theme “Civil Rights in America.” Her performance will include original work from her one-woman show Call Me Black Woman, which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary, as well as poetry by other noted African American writers. This work is featured in Words Like Freedom, a curriculum-based video produced and distributed by Kentucky Education Television as part of the state’s arts toolkit.
