Hipster Haiku

ALL NIGHT // Bohorfoush Gallery
A traditional Japanese haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. Often focusing on images from nature, haiku emphasizes simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression. Type your own haiku on one of our vintage typewriters, and share it using #BMASamurai!

Light Painting Photo Booth

The Light Paint Photo Booth is an incredible new spin on the classic photo booth. Guests are guided into a pitch black enclosure by an attendant who explains the unique light painting process. The photo countdown begins and guests pose for the camera’s flash to go off. Right after the flash, the shutter on the camera remains open for an additional 15 seconds while the guests move around with LED and glow props creating colored light trails.

ALL NIGHT // Oscar’s Café
Seasick Records, located in Avondale, houses a variety of indie/alternative, punk, hardcore, and classic rock vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. Complete with a music savvy staff devoted to introducing the newest and the best releases, Seasick has a bright future ahead in the Magic City.

Pastry Art Edible Installation

ALL NIGHT // Oscar’s Café
A passion for art and baking has carried Carol Gregg on a fifteen-year culinary odyssey that led from a hobby to a profession. Carol, along with her husband, Dennis, opened Pastry Art Bake Shoppe in Homewood, Alabama where her award-winning “scratch” cake creations are featured. The Greggs’ founding principle of freshness, quality, and friendliness is evident any day you visit one of their cozy little bakeries. See their work of art, inspired by a piece in our collection, made out of delicious baby bites!

Bromberg’s Giveaways

ALL NIGHT // 8th Avenue Lobby
When visiting the various activities around the museum, keep a look out for a volunteer with yellow “Enter to WIN” slips. Fill it out, take it to the Bromberg’s table in the 8th Avenue Lobby, and be entered to win a beautiful piece of Bromberg’s jewelry!
