The European Art Society

The European Art Society was established in 2001 to further awareness of European painting, sculpture, and works on paper. The Society supports acquisitions, exhibitions, and educational programs relating to the Museum’s permanent European art collection. In 2007, the Society expanded its focus to include decorative arts. This additional aspect offers an opportunity to gain appreciation of the Museum’s extensive European decorative arts collection, including the Dwight and Lucille Beeson Wedgwood Collection. Regular European Art Society events include the annual dinner, when members vote for an acquisition for the permanent collection; private lectures; gallery talks and discussion sessions led by local and national experts in the field; and domestic and international travel opportunities.
