Mary Lucier, considered one of the pioneers of video as an art form, will discuss the evolution of her work at the opening of her latest video installation, The Plains of Sweet Regret. She began experimenting with video in the 1970s and has since created more than 50 major pieces. Lucier will sign exhibition catalogs at the reception following the program.

The Plains of Sweet Regret is an 18-minute, five channel video installation employing four video projections, two plasma screens, surround sound, and various rescued objects and artifacts to tell the story of the seismic changes sweeping the American Great Plains.
