HBO Def Poetry Jam artist Sharif Simmons hosts an evening of performances by local spoken word artists headlined by internationally renowned spoken word artist Patricia Smith. Smith is a four-time National Poetry Slam champion and an award-winning poet. Her most recent book, Blood Dazzler, was a 2008 National Book Award finalist.
