For centuries the city of Turin has been recognized as one of the great capitals of Baroque music, and in the early 20th century a large cache of manuscripts by musical master Antonio Vivaldi was discovered there. In celebration of the Leonardo exhibition, Alabama Symphony Orchestra music director and principal conductor Justin Brown leads this Leonardo-inspired program which features Canzon by Giovanni Gabrieli and concludes with Ottorino Respighi’s powerful masterpiece, The Pines of Rome. Along the way, ASO concertmaster Daniel Szasz brings his superlative artistry to Vivaldi’s most famous and enduring work, The Four Seasons.
