Starting September 1, a group of Native American dresses from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian will be exhibited in the BMA’s Native American gallery, together with some accessories including beaded moccasins, leggings, and belts. All of these garments are from tribal groups who lived on the Great Plains, a vast grassland region in the middle of the US, extending from the US-Canadian border southward into Texas, between the Rocky Mountains and Mississippi River. Don’t miss these exciting loans, on view at the BMA until May 2014.
